Join us as part of this year's NAIDOC Week Celebrations.

NAIDOC week is a national celebration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. This celebration takes place in the first week of July each year. The Bundaberg and District NAIDOC committee facilitate family friendly events from the first to the second Sunday of July each year, these events are open to all community members. It is about the desire to share Aboriginal culture with a multi-cultural society. The Bundaberg & District NAIDOC Committee will present a series of free community events at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre as part of NAIDOC Week 2022.

The Drover's Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson, starring Goa, Gunggari, Wakka Wakka Murri woman Leah Purcell (lead actor, writer, director, co-producer), tells the story of heavily pregnant Molly Johnson, whose husband is away droving cattle, leaving her on their remote Snowy Mountains homestead to care for their four children. When she meets Yadaka, an Aboriginal man on the run from police, both are forced to confront some long-held secrets.
