One of the most impressive musicians to emerge in Australia.

With a dazzling technique dispensing hair-raising tempos… His writing displays a real depth of emotion …revelling in a zest for life and celebration. - The Australian

Joseph Tawadros AM is a leading Oud virtuoso, composer and 4 time ARIA Award Winner. Born in Cairo, brought up in Sydney, he is currently based in London, but travels often to perform including Australian tours each year. Joseph will be appearing at the Moncrieff with his brother James.

Joseph is a master of the Oud, and James has made a name for himself as a world-class percussionist specialising on the Req, an Egyptian tambourine.

A virtuoso of diversity and sensitivity, Joseph performs in concert halls worldwide and is known for his brilliant technique, deep musicianship and joyous style of performance.

The telepathic musical rapport shared by the brothers is evident in every duet. - The Australian

Not only do they know each other’s playing inside out and share a flair for rhythmic precision, but they also overlap on the deeper levels of instincts for phrasing, dynamics, space, density, drama and melodic contour.  - Sydney Morning Herald
