Join us for a glorious evening of uplifting music when the Bundaberg Youth Orchestra return to the Moncrieff for a very special concert event.
The Bundaberg Youth Orchestra (BYO) is one of Queensland's longest running regional youth orchestras with a proud history reaching back over fifty years. The BYO are passionate about the benefits of music education for young people and work to provide opportunities for their orchestras that might not otheriwse be available to regional music students.
BYO's Musical Director and Conductor since 1991, Robert Rotar OAM, is reponsible for the high standard of training that BYO provides; and has inspired many of the orchestra members to pursue careers as professional musicians.
In the past few years, the BYO musicians have also been able to experience performance opportunities with visiting groups such as Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra.
BYO also has a proud history of producing international standard players with past members undertaking further study as well as holding positions with leading Symphony orchestras.
